  • crab sticks - 250 gr.
  • chicken eggs - 3-4 pcs.
  • fresh cucumber - 1 - 2 pcs.
  • green onions - 2-3 stalks
  • fresh dill - a bunch
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • mayonnaise - 4 tbsp. l.
  1. Remove the crab sticks from the protective film and cut into cubes.

For unexpected guests, crab sticks can be purchased in advance and frozen. Before cooking, simply rinse them with hot water.

2. Chop a couple of green onions. Do not overdo it with onions, otherwise the salad will turn out bitter. You need very little onion for a hint of flavor. Fresh dill gives the salad a special flavor. In winter, if I don’t have fresh dill on hand, I add frozen. Add greens to crab sticks.

3. Boil the eggs, peel, cut into cubes and also add to the salad.

It is better to boil steamed rice; it does not stick together during cooking and remains that way after cooking. In addition, it expands perfectly in size. That is, almost four times. And this is already a full-fledged element of the salad, visible to the eye, which is important.


It will only need to be cooled and then used in cooking.

2. Eggs should be hard-boiled and cooled with cold water. Then cut them into small cubes.


3. Seafood is best purchased chilled. I personally don't like the frozen product. Usually one package weighs 200 - 250 grams. Use whatever you have.

They need to be cut. There are several different options for cutting methods. And they mainly depend on what look you want to get.

  • you can cut them into cubes. In this case, it is better to cut all other components as well. The design will be more impressive.
  • can be cut into thin strips. In this case, we cut the cucumbers the same way. And the egg, corn and green onions will be shaped like a cube. The “geometry” of the appearance will be different.

I take the sticks apart into fibers. In this form, they turn out to be very thin, and are perfectly saturated with the juices of all other components. And I prefer the taste of this content, in principle, as well as its appearance.


And in order to disassemble seafood into fibers, it must first be cut into two or three pieces, and then into two more halves. And then divide it into fibers, helping yourself with a knife. This way the disassembled straw will be short and the same size.

Place the straws in a bowl.


4. Add the egg, cooled rice, and corn, from which all the liquid has previously been drained. And also chopped green onions and dill. And some people like dill more. It will not be considered a mistake to use it either.



And instead of green onions, you can use regular onions. In this case, you will need to cut it into very small cubes and pour boiling water over it so that all the bitterness comes out.


All ingredients are tender, the corn and sticks have a slightly sweet taste. And we don’t need to add bitterness. All tenderness will be lost, and the bitter taste may overpower all the others.

5. And we have one more component left, which we will also add today. This is a fresh cucumber.


Why is there such special attention to him? Yes, because in the first classic version of the dish, cucumber was not added. And it started to be added a little later.

I don’t salt it, because crab sticks and mayonnaise are already salty enough as it is. And salt, as a rule, is enough for the entire composition. But taste it before serving. And if you feel that there is not enough salt, then add a little salt.
